No Cardinals Land in PFF's Top 101 Players of 2022

The Arizona Cardinals didn't see a single player land in Pro Football Focus' Top 101 Players List of 2022.

2022 was just a horrific season for the Arizona Cardinals from start to finish.

Drama on and off the field kept the team in headlines for all the wrong reasons while injuries in what felt like a weekly basis ensured the Cardinals never really found their footing from a health aspect.

The Cardinals cleaned house as a result of their 4-13 record, and although there were some positives to take away from the 2022 season, Arizona has quickly pivoted their sights to 2023 and beyond.

Part of the disappointment in Arizona was the group of talented players the Cardinals possessed. The previous year, we saw nearly the same team make the postseason.

How bad was 2022? Pro Football Focus released their top 101 players list of 2022 and not a single Cardinals player cracked the list.

With Kyler Murray's injury/overall drop in play and DeAndre Hopkins' suspension among other factors keeping Arizona's finest off the list, it's hard to make some arguments for Arizona's biggest names to be recognized.

However, it was a bit odd not to see Budda Baker's name on the list. Two former Cardinals in Haason Reddick and Patrick Peterson were featured, though.

Haason Reddick No. 38

"One of the free agent signings of the season, Reddick ended up with 87 total pressures, including the playoffs. He recorded 19 pressures in three postseason games and was one of the most consistent speed rush threats in the league all year."

Patrick Peterson No. 78

"Peterson may not have the same athletic ability as earlier in his career, but he has the experience and veteran savvy to still be an excellent zone cornerback. Peterson posted an 82.5 PFF coverage grade in 2022 — his best since 2018 — and allowed a 66.8 passer rating into his coverage."
