Insider: Cardinals 'Sleeper' Team to Trade Draft Pick

More steam surrounds the Arizona Cardinals and their ability to move down.

ARIZONA -- The Arizona Cardinals are less than a month away from the 2024 NFL Draft, and steam is picking up quite heavily in regards to their interest of moving out of the No. 4 pick.

If you've paid close attention to the organization throughout the offseason, you'll know the Cardinals have been fairly obvious on their efforts to keep themselves open to moving back. Arizona has plenty of holes to fill as their rebuild continues, and though the Cardinals could easily stick and take a cornerstone player at the top of the order, the organization is insistent they're open for business.

That was again emphasized by NFL insider Jordan Schultz, who appeared on the Pat McAfee Show and called the Cardinals a "sleeper" team to move down.

"I think Arizona - if you're looking for a sleeper team to move back - I think Arizona at four is going to move back. They're not married to four, I think Monti realizes they have quite a few holes. They don't need a quarterback obviously, they can move back and address some other positions," Schultz said.

Perhaps "sleeper" isn't the right word here, as even Cardinals GM Monti Ossenfort has acknowledged the organization is open to anything.

"We're always going to be listening. We'll always have the conversation - we may not get to a point where the deal makes sense, whether it's at four or anywhere we're picking, but we're always going to have the conversation. If it makes sense and if it's attractive to building our team, then it's something that we'll certainly consider no matter where we're at in the draft," said Ossenfort.

The Cardinals currently have six picks in the first three rounds.
