Can the Arizona Cardinals cover their 3.5 point spread today?

Spread Pick

The Athletic's Vic Tafur: "I will not pick the Bengals again. The Cardinals are going to look in the mirror at some point after a surprising start, and they couldn’t hang with the 49ers last week. Their secondary is not good. But I will not pick the Bengals. I mean, the Bengals have fewer drives of 25-plus yards (15) this season than the Dolphins have plays of 25-plus yards. I don’t understand why Cincinnati just doesn’t lean on Joe Mixon until Joe Burrow’s calf is feeling better and he can start attacking defenses downfield again.

"The Cardinals aren’t very good against the run either. Defensively, you’re telling me the Bengals can’t stack the box against James Conner and force Joshua Dobbs into some mistakes? And everybody is taking the Cardinals? Jeez … (takes off collar), I am taking the Bengals again."

Prop Pick

Covers.com's Jason Logan: "The 6-foot-5 tight end is primed for another stellar showing against the Bengals, who struggle to defend the position. Cincinnati has given up the 10th most yards to the position along with three touchdowns to TEs, who are averaging almost 10.5 yards per reception against Cincy this season.

"This is nothing new for Lou Anarumo’s defense, which finished 2022 with the ninth most yards allowed to TEs and an average of 10.5 yards per catch. And for what it’s worth, Ertz caught seven passes for 70 yards as a member of the Eagles the last time he took on Anarumo’s schemes back in 2020.

"Ertz’s receiving yards prop of 30.5 sits short of his season average. The low end of the forecasts calls for 33 yards while the ceiling sits closer to 38 yards.

"My number comes out to just shy of 36 yards for Ertz against Cincinnati, which is giving up 55 yards per game to TEs in 2023.

"My best bet: Zach Ertz Over 30.5 Receiving Yards (-110)"

Over/Under Pick

Forbes' Tyler Maher: "The Over/Under for this game is 44.5 points, which is about average for an NFL game.

"Because of the Bengals’ offensive issues, three of their four games have gone under that total. By comparison, Arizona has played two games over that total and two games under it, although one finished barely under at 44.5.

"The Cardinals have already been involved in a couple of shootouts, and another one seems likely here. Both defenses rank in the bottom half of the league, so both teams should be able to score plenty of points.

"The big key here is Burrow. If he plays up to his potential, the Bengals are capable of scoring 25-30 points in this game and will force Arizona to keep pace. If Burrow puts up another stinker, however, this game will likely hit the Under.

"The former scenario seems more likely given the Cardinals’ defensive woes, making the Over the better play."
