Report: Cardinals, Falcons Discussed Kyler Murray Trade

In this story:
NFL draft season will produce some of the wildest takes, rumors and buzz you'll come to find - and Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray is no exception.
Murray currently finds himself as one of the more polarizing players in the league, thanks to his flashed on the field that made him the Heisman Trophy winner and eventual No. 1 pick. He was part of an effort that saw the Cardinals make the postseason for the first time in years, though concerns over his play style, attitude, maturity and off-field interests have followed him since arriving in the desert.
Murray inked a massive contract extension last offseason, and though the regime that handed him that bag is gone, Cardinals general manager Monti Ossenfort and head coach Jonathan Gannon have been consistent in their words and actions that they believe in him moving forward.
However, that hasn't stopped talk around Murray and his availability via trade.
Action Network's Simon Hunter reported that the Cardinals had a deal in place to send Murray to the Atlanta Falcons, who tried and failed to acquire Tennessee Titans QB Ryan Tannehill.
"Same thing happened with Kyler Murray in Atlanta. Apparently there was a deal in place - for the Cardinals and Atlanta - they were gonna send Kyler Murray to Atlanta for draft picks, and they were gonna take some money on."

From a financial standpoint, trading Murray this offseason makes zero sense. The Cardinals would eat $59.2 million in dead cap and would accrue $43 million against the salary cap this year.
Very unlikely a serious trade discussion took place.
