NFC West Roundup: Super Bowl, Coaching Search and More

In this story:
ARIZONA -- For the fourth time since 2018, the NFC West division will see one of their own competing in the Super Bowl, and that's where we'll start this week's roundup.
San Francisco 49ers
The San Francisco 49ers are off to Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas two weeks from now after defeating the Detroit Lions in the NFC Championship Game.
Down 24-7 in the second half, the 49ers tied the largest comeback in NFC title game history and will now face the Kansas City Chiefs in the big game for the second time in five years.
It's no surprise to see the 49ers make it deep in the postseason after securing the No. 1 seed in the postseason, and their talented roster is definitely deserving of another shot at a ring.

Seattle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks continue their coaching search after "moving" Pete Carroll to an advisory role, and now they're free to interview their coveted target in Baltimore Ravens DC Mike Macdonald for their vacancy following the Chiefs' win in the AFC title game.
Seattle has reportedly interviewed eight candidates thus far but were only permitted to speak with Macdonald until after his team was bounced from the postseason, per NFL rules.
Reported second interviews with Seattle include Ben Johnson, Dan Quinn, Ejiro Evero, Mike Kafka and Raheem Morris - who already accepted the Atlanta Falcons' head coaching job.
The Seahawks just lost DC Clint Hurdle to the Philadelphia Eagles to be their DL coach. Seattle is also reportedly losing defensive assistant Karl Scott to Philly, too.

Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams are also going through interviews to fill out their staff after losing their defensive coordinator in Morris. Names such as Brandon Staley and Ron Rivera are reportedly interviewing for the position.
Also going with Morris to Atlanta are coaches Jimmy Lake (who will be the Falcons' DC) and Zac Robinson, who will handle OC duties under Morris' second term in Atlanta.
It will certainly be interesting to see how Sean McVay navigates the latest changes on his staff as the Rams look to remain prominent in the playoff picture moving forward into the future.

Arizona Cardinals
With no roster moves made and no (as of now) changes being made to Jonathan Gannon's staff with the Arizona Cardinals, the most newsworthy items have come at the helm of former faces in Kliff Kingsbury and Zach Ertz.
Ertz signed onto the Lions' practice squad last week in hopes of competing for another Super Bowl. Ertz ultimately wasn't activated to active roster in San Francisco and now is back on the couch following Detroit's loss.
Kingsbury has now completed three interviews for vacant OC openings and is still considered to be a serious candidate to land a job in the NFL in 2024. He's spoken with the Chicago Bears, Philadelphia Eagles and Las Vegas Raiders while NBC's Peter King previously reported he was going to talk with the Pittsburgh Steelers - though that hasn't come to fruition just yet.
