The reality of every free agency period is that certain players on teams are bound to end up elsewhere. In a league where every team is looking to improve what they are currently building, front offices must be active with contracts and on the trade block.

Whether your franchise is looking to win a Super Bowl or rebuild from the draft, there are always moves and decisions to be made. The Los Angeles Chargers are no exception to this and we've seen numerous former players of ours take their future into their own hands and leave town.

Most recently, Drue Tranquill who started at linebacker for LA in 2022 agreed to a one-year deal with the Kansas City Chiefs. This means he remains in the same division as the Bolts and will play them at least twice next season. Tranquill's departure did not hit many fans the best as he is coming off of a great year that saw him post 144 tackles in the 17 games he played.

At just 27-years-old, Tranquill definitely has many more years of improvement ahead of him. The Chiefs are just coming off of winning a Super Bowl and are now bringing in a young difference-maker.

Fans and insiders of the Bolts took to Twitter to share their thoughts and first reactions when the deal was first announced.

The majority of those who were upset at the franchise for letting Tranquill walk and sign such a small deal. However it's important to remember the Chargers have limited spending power and could be saving for a different player. Nonetheless, we thank Tranquill for his time with us and hope he has a long, healthy career.
