Best Moments From Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVII Parade

In this story:
The Kansas City Chiefs are the newly-crowned champions of the NFL following their Super Bowl LVII victory over the Philadelphia Eagles, and now they get to party just as hard as they worked for the months leading up to that win.
Just over three years after their celebratory Super Bowl LIV parade, the Chiefs were back in the downtown Kansas City area to memorialize their most recent big-game win. On Wednesday, hundreds of thousands of people once again met at and near Union Station to join the team on its parade route around the city.
There were countless notable moments from the bus trip and on-stage celebrations featuring Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and others. With that in mind, let's take a look at some of them from the afternoon.

Following the Chiefs' Super Bowl win back in 2020, Mahomes took the internet by storm when he celebrated the team's triumph with his WWE Championship belt. He managed to do the same this year as well, hopping off the bus to greet fans and enjoy his time during the parade while doubling as the People's Champ in the process.

Patrick Mahomes wasn't the only member of his family enjoying himself at the Chiefs' Super Bowl parade. Per an Instagram story from his wife, Brittany, they were both having a blast atop one of the team buses traveling through the downtown route. Multiple prominent members of the Chiefs organization were present on that particular bus, catching plenty of eyes.

A member of the 2019-20 Chiefs team that won Super Bowl LIV, Mitchell Schwartz is no stranger to celebrating a big victory and a subsequent parade in front of the entire town. From his point of view on the ground, he believes that more Kansas Citians and outside travelers somehow attended this parade than the last one. Chiefs Kingdom showed up and showed out on Wednesday, and it was obvious to their former longtime right tackle.

Much was made of the battle of the trenches leading up to the Super Bowl, with many believing that the Eagles' pass rush was going to give offensive tackles Andrew Wylie and Orlando Brown Jr. trouble. After the offensive line didn't surrender a single sack on Sunday, Brown made sure that the Twitter world knew about it. After Brown encouraged someone to put the feat on a t-shirt, some members of the front five were spotted representing their performance in the biggest game of the year.

It's always a special moment when players first get to hold the Vince Lombardi Trophy following a championship win, but it's even rarer for fans to be able to come in contact with it without seeing it protected by a glass display case. While on the ground at this year's parade, nose tackle Derrick Nnadi allowed some nearby fans to touch the trophy and make a memory that they'll never forget.
So much for a rebuild year...

Heading into the 2022-23 campaign, many expected the Chiefs to struggle to replicate the success they had in previous seasons. The combination of an AFC Championship Game loss, the trading of Tyreek Hill and the rest of the division going all-in set the scene for it, after all. Despite that, Kansas City thrived with Mahomes and company leading a bunch of rookies and semi-unproven vets alike to the promised land. On stage at the parade, general manager Brett Veach sent a message to the doubters.

"This is just the beginning... we ain't done yet. I'll make sure to hit y'all back next year."
To help cap things off near the end of the on-stage celebration and parade, Mahomes proclaimed that the Chiefs will be back a year from now. That, combined with Travis Kelce's declaration of a dynasty, gave fans in attendance plenty to be excited about after one of the most action-packed days of the year for the entire area.
