With the 2023-24 NFL campaign heating up and the schedule passing its halfway point, the holiday season is also right around the corner. Philadelphia Eagles center Jason Kelce is feeling the spirit, as he's joined by teammates Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata on their upcoming album, "A Philly Special Christmas Special." The group's second Christmas album together is set to release on Dec. 1, and it features a very special guest.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce jumped on a song for the album, singing a duet with his brother Jason on "Fairytale of Philadelphia." The record is officially streaming as of Wednesday morning, with an animated teaser-style clip of it making rounds on social media on Tuesday afternoon and evening:

On this week's edition of the brotherly duo's New Heights podcast, the Chiefs superstar poked fun at the collaboration and alluded to plenty of others joining in soon.

"Welp, I can't wait for everybody to absolutely chop me down and make fun of me for how I sing," Kelce said. "This will be fantastic."

The 2023 song pays homage to 1987's "Fairytale of New York" by the English and Irish Celtic punk band The Pogues. In the Kelce version, Travis sings in a bit of a higher tone that complements his brother's voice as the two take playful jabs at each other throughout the song. The Philadelphia Inquirer explains the inspiration and recording process further:

The brothers get together on a Philly-ized rewrite of “Fairytale of New York,” the Pogues’ 1987 tale of an Irish immigrant spending Christmas eve sleeping off a bender in the drunk tank.

When A Philly Special producer Charlie Hall and engineer Nick Krill headed to Kansas City in August to record the Chiefs tight end, it was still B.T.S. in Kelce time. That is, Before Taylor Swift. Amidst Swift-Kelce dating rumors, Jason’s younger brother became a figure of worldwide fixation for Swifties. Their obsession only deepened when Travis traveled to to

Buenos Aries to see her perform last weekend

and Swift changed a lyric to “Karma is the guy on the Chiefs, coming straight home to me.”

Those interested can pre-order "A Philly Special Christmas Special" on the album's website, with proceeds from sales helping benefit local charities in Philadelphia such as the Children's Crisis Treatment Center.
