Indianapolis Colts' 2024 NFL Draft Slot Secured

The Indianapolis Colts know where they will be selecting in the 2024 NFL Draft.

The Indianapolis Colts are just a couple of days removed from a heartbreaking loss to the Houston Texans, squandering away any hopes of making the playoffs.

That being said, it's on to the 2024 season, as the Colts will look to rebound and build on their overachieving 2023. An essential part of preparing for the 2024 season is the NFL Draft, where general manager Chris Ballard does his best work to add talent to this team.

With the NFL regular season officially in the books, the Colts now know where they will pick in the draft in April. The Colts are slotted to hold the No.15 pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.

The No.15 pick puts the Colts almost directly in the middle of the first round. If the Colts do not trade the pick and stay in this spot, it would be tied for the Colts' third-highest selection since Ballard took over as general manager. The players taken with those three previous high selections were Malik Hooker (No. 15, 2017), Quenton Nelson (No.6, 2018), and Anthony Richardson (No.4, 2023).

Here are the last five players to be selected at No.15 in the NFL draft:

Ballard has been known to trade back to gather more draft capital when picking in this position. In 2020, the Colts traded the No.13 pick to the San Francisco 49ers for DeForest Buckner. That deal worked out very well for Indy.

But if the Colts decide to stay at No.15, the 2024 draft class is deep and filled with talent. With the Colts looking to add more playmakers at premium positions across the roster, they will have a great opportunity to do so with their current draft position in April.
