The Indianapolis Colts have already been busy this offseason since announcing Shane Steichen as their new head coach. The Colts announced on Wednesday they had signed cornerback Kevin Toliver II, and on Thursday they added wide receiver Malik Turner.

Turner was originally signed out of the University of Illinois by the Seattle Seahawks in 2018. He was an undrafted free agent after compiling over 1,800 yards receiving for the Illini.

The 6'2 and 200 pound receiver saw action in six games as a rookie and had two catches for 20 yards.

He had his best season as a receiver in 2019 with the Seahawks with 15 catches for 245 yards. It was his second season in the NFL when he became a key special teams contributor.

He logged 170 snaps on special teams for the Seahawks in 2019 before moving on to the Dallas Cowboys in 2020.

Turner played in just six game for the Cowboys in 2020, but in 2021 he had 12 catches for 149 yards and three touchdowns. That year he saw a career-best 238 snaps on special teams.

Turner bounced on and off several practice squads last season including seeing three games with the San Francisco 49ers before being released. He had a cup of coffee with the Las Vegas Raiders and Houston Texans without making an appearance for either team.

Turner will bring depth to the receiver room for the Colts, but he will need to be a contributor on special teams if he's going to make the 2023 squad.
