"We have signed WR Tyler Adams, WR Kody Case, T Matthew Vanderslice and DT Jamal Woods, and waived WR Cody Chrest, CB Tyler Richardson, RB Titus Swen and WR Braxton Westfield," from the official Twitter page of the Colts.
Adams, 6'0 and 190 pounds, played at Butler University last year. He had 39 catches for 689 yards and five touchdowns. According to his Butler bio, he also played in 15 games at Harvard (2017-21) and totaled 21 receptions for 305 yards and three touchdowns. He also registered six carries for 131 yards and one touchdown.
Case played at Illinois last season and was mainly an ace on special teams. Before that he played four years at South Dakota where he had 1,157 yards and nine touchdowns in his career.
Vanderslice is 6'8 and 329 pounds and played at Northern Iowa. UNI has become a hotbed for NFL linemen. Spencer Brown was drafted from there in 2021, and Trevor Penning was a first-round pick of the Saints last season.
Woods also played at Illinois and started two games for the IIlini last season with 11 tackles and a tackle for loss. He's 6'2 and 294 pounds and was originally from Hueytown, Ala.
The four players waived were also signed as college free agents, but they are no longer with the team. That doesn't mean the team can't bring them back before the start of OTA's and training camp, but for now, they are no longer Colts.
