The Indianapolis Colts will be counting on a lot of young players in 2023 including their rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson who is getting off to a fast start.

Fourth-year cornerback Isaiah Rodgers is a wily veteran by comparison to the 12 draft picks in Indianapolis this summer. Still just 25-years old, Rodgers is garnering a lot of attention this offseason headed into 2023.

Earlier this week, Bleacher Report's (B/R) Alex Ballentine called Rodgers the Colts' best-kept secret

Say what you want about B/R, but Ballentine was on to something, because NFL.com's analytics expert Cynthia Frelund followed up this week calling Rodgers the Colts most underappreciated player.

The 2020 sixth-rounder has allowed less than 6.7 yards per target over the past two seasons, per computer vision. After serving as a backup in 2021, Rodgers worked his way into the starting lineup in 2022, earning PFF's fifth-best defensive grade among NFL corners (82.1). He also posted a coverage grade of 81.5. Both marks were the best of Rodgers' career thus far. -- Cynthia Frelund, NFL.com

Frelund points out that Rodgers average salary on his rookie contract is just $860,031, and at the time of her writing that put him 301st among cornerbacks in average compensation.

We had to double check that 301st number considering that's nearly 10 cornerbacks per team and Rodgers would come in last, but Spotrac has the number at 289.

Rodgers may be breaking through the barrier of best-kept secret and underappreciated, and for one more season he'll absolutely be on any "best bargains" lists.

He's scheduled to be a free agent after the season, and he can expect his compensation to increase tenfold.

Don't expect him be on any of the above-mentioned lists after this season, and Rodgers will be happy to get a raise.
