Aaron Wilson reported on Twitter/X: “Colts worked out Cameron Brown, Myles Dorn, Don Gardner and Anthony Miller.”
Cameron Brown is a rookie cornerback out of Ohio State University. He went undrafted in 2023 after seeing action in 18 games his final-two seasons as a Buckeye.
He had 55 tackles and 12 passes defended during his college career. Given that cornerback Dallis Flowers is out for the season and that Jaylon Jones (rookie) and Darrell Baker Jr. are stepping up to fill the void, Brown could be a candidate to backfill as they got battlefield promotions.
Likely, he’ll be signed to the practice squad to stash away defensive back depth if the Colts move forward in any way.
Next up is safety/defensive back Myles Dorn. Unlike Brown, Dorn has two seasons of NFL experience, both with the Minnesota Vikings.
He saw extensive action on special teams with the Vikings in 2021 and 2022. Since being signed off of the Vikings’ practice squad by the Carolina Panthers earlier this year, he’s bounced around the league a bit.
Could this be Dorn’s chance to get back on track with his NFL career and find stability? His diverse skillset does give him a chance to make some waves on this Colts roster.
Next up is another defensive back out of South Dakota State, Don Gardner.
Gardner went undrafted in 2022, but was signed to Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad last year. He was promoted to the active roster for one game that same year and got 14 snaps on special teams.
Lastly, and perhaps most notably, is veteran wide receiver Anthony Miller.
Miller is entering his fifth season in the NFL. He’s had stints with the Chicago Bears (2018-2020), Houston Texans (2021), and the Pittsburgh Steelers (2021). While he didn’t play in 2022, he could still contribute to the Colts’ receiving corps.
Miller has 140 catches for 1,589 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns in his career. He’s also only 29 years old, so perhaps he still has something left to prove and could help out a young and hungry Colts wide receivers group.
