In this story:

The Indianapolis Colts hung around .500 the early part of last season before losing 10 of their last 11 games to finish 4-12-1 and get the No. 4 overall pick in the NFL Draft.

It's an offseason of change for the Colts, but the only big move the Colts have made is the hiring of former Philadelphia Eagles offensive coordinator Shane Steichen to lead the team.

Still, the oddsmakers at Draft Kings are predicting an improvement on the season and have set the betting line for wins this year at 6.5.

The Colts are still in the market for a starting quarterback. If they were to add Lamar Jackson from the Baltimore Ravens, those that got the over will be pleased.

More likely is Indianapolis will be trotting out a rookie quarterback next season that they select with their first pick in the NFL Draft.

The Carolina Panthers sent a haul including draft picks and a player to the Chicago Bears for the rights to choose No. 1 this year, but there's still a lot of chatter that the Colts could move up a spot to No. 3 to take a quarterback.

In Mel Kiper's latest mock draft, he had the Colts moving up to No. 3 to take Will Levis. The Colts will also use a top-30 visit on über-talented quarterback Anthony Richardson.

Even if the Colts stay at No. 4, they're still likely to take a quarterback if they don't make a move for Jackson before the draft.

The increase of two games to the Colts win total by Draft Kings helps illustrate the faith that Steichen, and whoever plays quarterback, can improve the dysfunctional 2022 squad that failed to live up to expectations.

We don't know who the quarterback will be in 2023, and Draft Kings doesn't seem to care. They're basically saying "it can only get better."

The NFL Draft starts on Thursday April 27th, and it should be clear after the first day who will be quarterback of the future for the Colts, whether it's Jackson or a hot-shot rookie.
