Indianapolis Colts quarterback Anthony Richardson's spot in PFF's Fantasy Football Dynasty Rankings raises some eyebrows.

In this story:

The Indianapolis Colts have a young core of skill players heading into the NFL season including quarterback Anthony Richardson (21), running back Jonathan Taylor (24), and wide receiver Michael Pittman (25).

Dynasty leagues in fantasy football reward the drafting of younger players, because a fantasy owner can keep that player from year to year.

Pro Football Focus (PFF) recently released its Top 300 Fantasy Football Dynasty Rankings, and they appear to be bullish on the Colts' young players, especially Richardson.

Taylor was at the very top of these lists last year, and despite a disappointing 2022 he didn't fall very far. Taylor checks in at No. 6 overall and the No. 3 running back behind Bijan Robinson of the Atlanta Falcons and Breece Hall of the New York Jets.

Selecting Robinson and Hall over Taylor is an interesting choice. They've combined for a whopping seven games in the NFL.

Robinson was considered the best running back prospect to come out of the draft in the last five years, and Hall had 681 yards from scrimmage and five touchdowns in seven games last year.

Richardson's ranking among the quarterbacks is interesting as well. He checks in as the No. 5 quarterback from PFF. Again, dynasty rankings are counting on production for the long term, and Richardson's ceiling is sky high.

However, he is ranked above more established, young players like Justin Herbert, Trevor Lawrence, and Justin Fields.

Fields is the obvious comp here because of his running ability. The Colts will lean heavily on Richardson's ability to run the ball, but Fields rushed for 1,143 yards and eight touchdowns last season.

The Colts would be thrilled with that kind of production from Richardson.

Fields passed for just 2,242 yards and 17 touchdowns in 2022, but what are the realistic expectations for Richardson this year.

Herbert is still just 25-years old and has thrown for 14,089 yards and 94 touchdowns in his three years in the NFL. He's also rushed for eight scores.

Ranking Richardson above a player like Herbert is telling to just how much potential he has.

Pittman also cracked the top-50 players by checking in at... No. 50.

He was also the No. 25 wide receiver, sandwiched between Jahan Dotson of the Washington Commanders and Jerry Jeudy of the Denver Broncos.

If Richardson can live up to his lofty ranking, Pittman won't stay WR25 next year.
