Commanders WR Terry McLaurin Top 10 Despite 'Ugly List of Quarterbacks'

The Washington Commanders landed a bonafide star with Terry McLaurin at receiver, and he continues to shine despite not having the greatest talent on the other end of his receptions.

It's no secret the Washington Commanders have struggled to find a quarterback around which they can build a consistent winner around.

This year, coach Ron Rivera's third, the Commanders are giving Sam Howell an opportunity to become the guy they've been searching for.

Like others before him, there is some doubt and some anticipation that this time Washington might get it right.

There's also a top-10 receiver looking to help him succeed in fourth-year standout, Terry McLaurin.

"Since coming into the league, McLaurin has racked up more than 4,200 yards and 460 targets in four seasons with an ugly list of quarterbacks throwing him the football," says Pro Football Focus in their yearly ranking of NFL receivers. "He has a PFF receiving grade of at least 77.1 in each season, and passes thrown his way have generated a 101.2 passer rating, significantly higher than the baseline of those aforementioned quarterbacks."

In this year's rankings, PFF puts Washington's McLaurin second-best in the NFC East Division at No. 8 overall and one spot behind Philadelphia Eagles receiver A.J. Brown while sitting one ahead of CeeDee Lamb of the Dallas Cowboys.

McLaurin has had a total of 10 starting quarterbacks in four years with Howell being the 10th with his first career start coming in a Commanders win over Dallas in Week 18 of the 2022 NFL Season.
