Kendall Fuller, Sam Howell Lead Washington Commanders to Win vs. Atlanta Falcons

In this story:
The Washington Commanders are back in the win column after a 24-16 win against the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday afternoon inside Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
The Commanders trailed 7-3 in the first quarter, but three touchdowns from Sam Howell in the middle two quarters pushed Washington across the victory line. Antonio Gibson, Curtis Samuel and Brian Robinson Jr. were on the other end of Howell's touchdown passes.
Howell finished the game with 14 of 23 completions for 151 yards and three touchdowns.
The defense and special teams should also be credited for the team's success. All day long, they assisted the offense by giving them short fields for Howell to operate. Ahead of the team's first scoring drive, Jamison Crowder returned a punt for 61 yards to get the Commanders well inside Falcons territory, leading to an easy touchdown drive.
But the game ball should be awarded to veteran cornerback Kendall Fuller, who picked off Falcons quarterback Desmond Ridder twice, including one in the end zone in the fourth quarter in what could have been the game-tying touchdown.
The Falcons had one last chance to come back with two minutes to go, but the defense pulled out one more stop after Ridder threw his third interception of the game, this time to linebacker Jamin Davis. The interception marked the first of Davis' career.
With the win, the Commanders snap a three-game losing streak and are back at .500 through six games.
The Commanders are back in action next week against the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
