The Washington Commanders will wear their all-black alternate uniforms when they host the Chicago Bears on Thursday Night Football in Week 5, according to Nicki Jhabvala of The Washington Post

This will mark the first time this season that the Commanders have worn the alternate uniforms, which were introduced in the 2022 season along with the franchise's new nickname. Washington wore the all-black look on three occasions in 2022, per Jhabvala, losing to the Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings, but defeating the Atlanta Falcons in Week 11, the final time the threads were worn in their debut season.

The all-black uniforms are a break from Washington's typical burgundy-heavy uniforms, although they do still feature some burgundy and yellow on the numbering, name plates and sleeves.

Presumably, the Bears will counter with their white jerseys, either with navy blue pants or matching white ones. The team, though, has yet to announce what look they will go with for the primetime matchup.

Washington went toe-to-toe with the undefeated Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4, ultimately falling 34-31 in overtime. Still, coach Ron Rivera's squad is 2-2, and there have been some impressive moments from quarterback Sam Howell, running back Brian Robinson Jr. and pass rusher Chase Young over the first month that should give Washington hope they can compete for a Wild Card spot in the NFC playoffs.

The Bears and Commanders are set to kickoff tonight at 8:15 p.m. at FedEx Field. The game can be watched exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
