Washington Football Team Depth Chart - Week 1

Away we go! The NFL is officially back!
The first depth chart of the season that we would normally get in early August, is here on September 8th.
There's five days until the season opener at FedExField for the Washington Football Team against the Philadelphia Eagles.

A couple of "Quick Snaps" thoughts:
Linebacker: The starting linebackers are listed as Shaun Dion Hamilton, Jon Bostic and Kevin Pierre-Louis. Many were surprised by this but I'm really not.
Thomas Davis missed several days of camp. Cole Holcomb is good but it's not as if he was better than Pierre-Louis or Hamilton.
Bostic was always going to start at the "Mike" linebacker spot. Always.
Quarterback: Kyle Allen is listed behind Dwayne Haskins with Alex Smith listed as No. 3. This is the way it should be and this is what I was fully expecting for at least week one, no matter how unbelievable Smith's comeback journey is.
Defensive Line: Chase Young and Montez Sweat are listed as the starters with Jonathan Allen and Daron Payne inside. That makes sense for the most part on paper but we don't know for sure that Allen will be able to play (knee) and Matt Ioannidis is going to play a bunch so don't be surprised if this alignment doesn't hold up.
Running Back: This is the one that got the most eyes-open emojis. J.D. McKissic is the most polished back of the group and he could start depending on what package Scott Turner comes out with Sunday. I would still expect somewhere around 18 total touches for Antonio Gibson along with a package for Peyton Barber. I'm not sure if Bryce Love will even be active on gameday for week one.
