Cowboys at Bills Preview: Can Dallas Force Josh Allen Turnovers?

Cowboys at Buffalo Bills Preview: Can Dallas Force Josh Allen Turnovers? Injury Update from Inside The Star

FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys fly north to play the desperate Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium on Sunday afternoon. This matchup is highlighted by potent quarterbacks in Dak Prescott and Josh Allen, who have thrown the must touchdown passes (Prescott, 28; Allen, 25) in the league this season.

Both teams won big last Sunday, with the Bills defeating the reigning Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs and the Cowboys crushing the Philadelphia Eagles.

The victory keeps Dallas in the running for the NFC East division title and No. 1 seed in the NFC. If postseason started today, the 11th-ranked Bills would be left out. Buffalo is chasing the first-place Miami Dolphins in the AFC East. With four games remaining, every win gets them closer to qualifying for the postseason.

Dallas is relatively healthy here, as you can see from the Thursday injury report. ...

Prescott and the No. 1-ranked Cowboys offense (32.4 points-per-game) look to keep momentum alive and continue to protect the ball. Dallas’ 11 giveaways in 2023 are tied for fewest in the NFL.

Keep an eye on Prescott ... He can set the franchise record for most consecutive multi-passing touchdown games (eight) on Sunday.

A key to victory in Buffalo... Can the Dallas defense force Allen to turnover the ball? Since Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn arrived in 2021, the Cowboys lead the NFL in takeaways (88) and interceptions (55.) Allen leads the league in interceptions (55) since 2021.

Sunday is a homecoming for Stephon Gilmore of sorts. The cornerback was selected in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft by the Bills and played for Buffalo for five seasons. Gilmore is fresh off an impressive performance in the Dallas win vs. Philadelphia, finishing with nine tackles and forced one timely fumble on A.J. Brown.

FUN FACT 2: The Bills have allowed the least amount of sacks (18) in the NFL.

RECORDS: Dallas Cowboys (10-3) at Buffalo Bills (7-6)

THE FINAL WORD: Cowboys owner Jerry Jones wasn’t shy about the challenge that lies ahead.

“They’re a dangerous team,” Jones said. “At any given time, they can be as good as anybody in the NFL, in my mind. They got the players. They’ve got the quarterback. They’re just a good team,”

Added Jones: “Of all the places that a home-field advantage is different than the normal games you play, it’s Buffalo, New York.”
