Micah Parsons on Dallas Contract Talks: 'I'm Cowboys For Life!'

Dallas Cowboys defensive star Micah Parsons could be in line for a monster payday sooner rather than later, and he wants to remain a Cowboy for life.

The Dallas Cowboys have a host of decisions to make this offseason as it pertains to next season with contracts and personnel. One that is coming down the tracks like a freight train is a potential contract extension for Micah Parsons.

With Parsons entering the final year of his rookie contract in 2024, there isn't a rush for the Cowboys to put pen to paper with Micah and in theory, could even franchise tag him in 2025.

But before his future can get sorted out, Micah knows others need to be finalized first.

“I won’t find anything out until March to see if they are interested in doing it, I know they’ve gotta get CeeDee Lamb done, I think that’s the priority right now,” Parsons said on Super Bowl Live.

With Dak Prescott looming as the biggest contract domino to fall, we think that while Micah says Lamb's contract is a priority, Dak's might take precedence given his salary cap number in 2024 and what an extension could do in terms of opening up room to get other deals done.

But if Jerry and Stephen Jones did come to Micah and wanted to get the process started, that is something he would be all for, and stated in no uncertain terms that he wants to remain a Cowboy for his entire career.

“If they are ready to talk about a deal [now], get a deal done I’ll be super excited," Parsons said. "I’m ready to be a Cowboy for life, this is the team I wanna be with, this is the team I want to win a championship with. So what’s meant for me is meant for me, I’m not going to rush the process and keep working until it's time.”

That time is coming soon, Micah.

After three seasons, Parsons has developed into one of the star players in the NFL as since 2021, he has amassed 40.5 sacks (ranks fourth) in just 50 games, 51 tackles for loss (ranks third) not to mention 89 quarterback hits. He constantly deals with double and triple teams all the while his lack of holding calls continues to be a hot topic on social media.

Parsons will be due a sizable contract extension when the time comes and it will likely result in him becoming the highest-paid defensive player in history.

Other contracts can be taken care of first (Dak and Lamb), but Micah knows his is coming, and he has made it clear that despite the change this offseason, he wants to remain a Cowboy for life.

And that's just fine with us, Micah.
