Dak Prescott Help: Cowboys Draft Elite WR in Latest NFL Mock

In NFL.com's latest mock draft, they believe the Cowboys will add another weapon to the Cowboys offense.

If you looked purely at the stats it would be hard to find an issue with the Dallas Cowboys offense in 2022. After all, they averaged 27.5 points on 354.9 yards of total offense per game, even with quarterback Dak Prescott only playing in 12 games.

While Prescott still threw for 2,860 yards and 23 touchdowns in those 12 games, he only had one elite weapon to work with in receiver CeeDee Lamb. After Lamb's team-high 1,359 receiving yards, the next highest producer was tight end Dalton Schultz with 577.

Simply put, Prescott needs more weapons on offense, and another weapon is what he gets in NFL.com's latest mock draft in the form of Jaxon Smith-Njigba.

No. 26 - Dallas Cowboys - WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba (Ohio State)

It will be fascinating to see where JSN lands after injuries derailed his 2022 campaign. The Cowboys badly need receiver help, though, and could consider ending his slide here.

Smith-Njigba, who only appeared in three games in 2022, burst onto the scene as a sophomore in a loaded Ohio State receiver room.

He recorded 1,606 receiving yards and nine touchdowns, capping off his sophomore year with a dominant Rose Bowl performance which saw him haul in 15 receptions for an absurd 347 receiving yards and three touchdowns.

There are questions as to how Smith-Njigba will look following the hamstring injury that sidelined him for most of his junior season, of course. And some think he might be a top-10 pick in this draft.

We'll say this: If he looks like the receiver he did in 2021, adding him alongside Lamb with the No. 26 could really open up the Cowboys offense. ... and maybe elevate Dak Prescott and company to another level.
