Cowboys Micah & Dak 'Attack' on Win vs. Jets: Notebook

The Dallas Cowboys are led by Dak Prescott and Micah Parsons and continuously-elite defensive play in Sunday's win over the New York Jets.

The Dallas Cowboys have yet to feel any true resistance through two games this season. After taking down the New York Jets 30-10 at AT&T Stadium on Sunday, they've now handled both New York City-based teams with ease amid defensive domination en route to a 2-0 start

Based on their performance through two games, the Cowboys might have to wait another two weeks before playing a competitive game, as they'll visit the tanking Arizona Cardinals in Week 3.

But for now, let's look at a few takeaways from Dallas' win over the Jets:

New York, New York (New York?) The Cowboys have now beaten two of the three teams located in the state of New York, outscoring them 70-10 in the process. Dallas will have to wait a bit to go for the trifecta when they take on the Buffalo Bills at Orchard Park in Week 15.

Dallas D handles business Aside from the one long 64-yard touchdown scored by Jets standout receiver Garrett Wilson, the Dallas defense gave up next to nothing on defense. Dan Quinn's pass rush and secondary worked in tandem to create chaos around quarterback Zach Wilson, who finished 12 of 27 passing for 170 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. He was also sacked three times and took five QB hits.

The Cowboys will have to see how they fare against some truly elite offenses, but this defense is showing early signs of being a Super Bowl-winning unit.

micah parsons

Micah MVP? It's highly unlikely that Parsons will take home MVP, with Defensive Player of the Year obviously being a much more realistic goal. But those way-too-early Week 2 MVP rankings will be still written by an endless amount of journalists, and Parsons deserves to be on those lists.

While the three sacks, seven tackles, one forced fumble and one pass defense are nice, Parsons' impact is seen and felt on nearly every snap he's on the field. He's blowing past blocks with lightning speed before keeping pace with his target on the run without losing a step.

Regardless of how this season ends for the defensive superstar, he's certainly the Cowboys' MVP and is becoming one of the most impactful players in the NFL.

Dak Prescott nearly perfect against elite Jets defense Even though the Aaron Rodgers-less Jets were facing an uphill battle to win in Dallas, their defense remains one of the league's best. This hardly impacted Dak Prescott, as he was solid and efficient all afternoon before finishing 31 of 38 passing for 255 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

He could've boosted these stats if the game was closer late in the second half. But if the Cowboys can create this kind of late-game comfort for Prescott the rest of the season, they'll be hard to beat.

“We can go to Arizona and get win No. 3,'' Dak said Sunday night, quickly turning the page to next week. "Simple as that. That’s where our focus is. That’s who we are right now. That’s what we’re focusing on. Carpe Omnia and staying in the moment right now. ... It’s about attacking each and every day, our preparation. We’re not going to get any further than Arizona. I think that’s how we continue this rhythm.”
