FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys are continuing to add to their list of candidates for their vacant offensive coordinator position, now planning on interviewing Los Angeles Rams assistant head coach Thomas Brown.

The Jones family, in Mobile for the Senior Bowl, both confirmed their interest in Jeff Nixon from the Panthers while also mentioning Brown.

Brown, 36, has been with the Rams for the past three seasons after nine years as an assistant all over college football. Brown was part of the Rams' Super Bowl winning staff last season under Sean McVay and is expected to be a head coach candidate within a few years given his current trajectory.

“Thomas is a special guy,” Rams tight end Tyler Higbee has said. “He’s built to lead people.”

Brown is also on the wish list of other teams, including the NFC East rival Washington Commanders, who are looking to replace Scott Turner, who was fired after three seasons with the team earlier this month.

Dallas of course has moved on from Kellen Moore, "philosophical differences'' sending him to the Chargers, with Cowboys head coach Mike McCarthy set to take over play-calling, install a more Packers-like offense, and hire a top aide.

CowboysSI.com has reported on the possibility of McCarthy's new coordinator coming from his own coaching tree (Brian Schottenheimer, Ben McAdoo), while also noting the Rooney Rule, which is covered by the candidacy of Brown and Nixon, in addition to their other qualifications.
