Much of the offseason talk was about how Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was going to look in Mike McCarthy's "Texas Coast Offense" as the league-leading interception total was a popular narrative to cling to.

But as the weeks rolled on, Prescott got comfortable in McCarthy's scheme, with the  Week 5 loss to San Francisco being the catalyst for change - and Dak has been a big beneficiary of that.

Now, with the Cowboys gearing up for the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card Round, McCarthy is loving the command and confidence Prescott has operating his system.

“He's always been a confident person,” McCarthy said of Prescott. “But I think so much of playing the quarterback position, there's so much relied on you from a leadership role. I think he's been able to take a step back and some of this has been by design and just make sure he's absorbing all those positive vibes that he's contributing throughout the locker room to himself too. So he's very much engaged with where he is each and every day, he's as disciplined as a worker that I've ever had the opportunity to work with.

"So I just think his whole his whole energy is brighter.”

The decision to take over the play-calling duties from Kellen Moore has been a good one as Prescott, under McCarthy's guidance has gone to another level.

Dak threw for 4,516 yards, 36 touchdowns, eight interceptions, had a career-high in completion percentage (69.5), had his highest quarterback rating (105.9), and was named a Second-Team All-Pro and a Pro Bowler.

With the Cowboys offense under Prescott lighting up the scoreboard, it is no wonder the confidence is flowing at The Star.

Dallas has its best chance in nearly three decades to make the NFC Championship game, but first, it must get past the Green Bay Packers. As the Cowboys are undefeated at AT&T Stadium this season and boast a 16-game winning streak, it is no wonder that Dallas is favorite. But if we then add a confident Prescott to the mix, who is operating McCarthy's offense at a high level, it is all adding up nicely for Dallas.

Dak is confident, McCarthy is confident in Dak and the Cowboys are on a two-game winning streak heading into a must-win contest at home.

There are "positive vibes" everywhere right now, and the Cowboys must do all they can to ensure that continues past Sunday.
