This season for the Jacksonville Jaguars will be all about second-year quarterback Gardner Minshew II and determining if he is a franchise-level passer worth building around moving forward. But what about 2021? ... According to updated odds released by Odds Shark on Thursday, the Jaguars are tied for third in terms of likelihood to roster quarterback Dak Prescott in 2021. The team Jacksonville is tied with at +900 odds? None other than the Dallas Cowboys, who drafted Prescott in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft and currently feature him as the starting quarterback.

The angst surrounding Dak and the Cowboys is understandable. Prescott is currently set to play for the Cowboys in 2020 on the $31.409 million exclusive franchise tender he signed several three weeks ago. He is scheduled to hit the free agent market in 2021 - except that Dallas can again tag him (at $37.7 million) and figures to do that only after attempting once again to forge a long-term deal.

"What Is Dak?'' is a subject of great NFL debate. Is he statistically great? (He has a 40-24 record as a regular-season starter) or does the team boost that? Is his versatility (21 rushing touchdowns) a weapon that can be unleashed even more? Or is he, in the end, jut about as "8-8'' at the Cowboys themselves so often are?

Those questions - which are central to why Dallas and Dak couldn't agree - continue on. We think Prescott's career with the Cowboys will do the same beyond 2020 ... though the circumstances of the last week leave us unsure how much we'd like to bet on it.
