It wasn’t until the Kelce brothers released the latest episode of their ‘New Heights’ podcast on Wednesday that the depth of the Kelce brothers’ emotions before, during, and after Super Bowl LVII really surfaced.

Both brothers, the Eagles’ Jason Kelce and the Chiefs’ Travis Kelce, let tears flow when discussing what the Super Bowl meant to them and both their parents, Donna and Ed Kelce.

“The moment I saw mom is when I got really emotional because, man, it was so awesome,” said Jason, who then paused for several seconds while the tears came, and his voice cracked with emotion.

The conversation between the brothers then went like this:

Travis: “All right now,” as he tried to let his brother have a moment to collect himself.

Jason: “Oh, man…she was on top of the world for a week.”

Travis: “She was the heavyweight champ, man.” It was then that Travis started to wipe away his own tears. “She was. On top of it and she shined the whole time. That was the coolest part. Mom, you absolutely killed it. Dad, you’ve been killing it.”

Jason: “Yep. It was just so cool to see her celebrate in that with us. It was an awesome moment…just so happy for her and so happy that she got her moment, dad got his, so yeah, ironically, you lose a Super Bowl and you’re crying after the game and they’re not tears of sadness, but tears of joy…so, it still sucked.”

Travis: “That’s what makes you the best brother, that’s what makes you the best.”

Jason: “I’m proud of my team, my guys, and sorry Philadelphia that we couldn’t get it done. I’m happy for you guys, and that’s the way it goes sometimes.”

Jason said he wasn’t too emotional when he first saw Travis after the Chiefs won, 38-35, in a down-to-the-wire thriller.

“I tried not to bring you down,” Jason said to his brother on the podcast. “I wanted to say congratulations and was really happy for you but still caught up in myself a little bit. I think I tried to get away from you as quick as possible so you could celebrate with your teammates.”

Travis added this:

“It was a pretty cool experience. America, the football world, I can’t thank you enough for jumping on board, enjoying our family the way you did, supporting our family the way you did, it was one of the coolest feelings in the world seeing your family accepted

“…I’ll remember that week and what led up to that game probably more than I’ll remember most of what happened that game. There were a lot of storylines and a lot of things said that my mother and father said in all their press conferences and the things they did leading up to that game (that) I’ll remember (more than) a lot of the third downs in that game or a lot of the situational plays we had in that game and it’s because of how much we have always known they deserved the credit they got that week.”
