'Sirianni Is Not Safe!' Could Get Fired by Eagles, Replaced by Bill Belichick, Insists Shock Jock In Weird 'Pamela Anderson' Rant

Bill Belichick may be out of work in New England, with a "Black Monday'' meeting with Patriots owner Robert Kraft in his future. And what is that future? Because of Belichick's well-crafted penchant for saying little - unless he's steered media pals to pushing a preferred narrative - that's unknown.

And speaking of "not knowing anything,'' along comes Craig Carton, the New York shock jock who is willing to say most anything to gain a ratings point.

"All of a sudden,'' Carton said on FS1, "Pamela Anderson is going to be available - and her name is Bill Belichick."

Forgetting for a moment that Pamela Anderson (no offense!) hasn't been culturally relevant for a quarter of a century - oh, and the same kinda goes for Carton, too - what are we doing here?

"The Carton Show," is calling for the Philadelphia Eagles to fire current coach Nick Sirianni and to hire Belichick. That is what we're doing here.

"If I'm Philly and it doesn't go right, I'll be the first team to try ... to bring Bill Belichick in," Carton said. "They would love him in Philadelphia."

We're not certain of any of that; if Sirianni wins, Philly loves him. Now that Belichick's not winning, New England no longer loves him. That's all how this works.

At the same time, any team with an opening should consider Belichick - but not blindly. His six Super Bowls in New England still shine. But he hasn't won in four years. He's 71. He's used to running his own show (as opposed to working for, say, GM Howie Roseman.)

There are no automatics here, not even with Belichick.

Still, Carton trudges on regarding Sirianni, "I would not be shocked (to see him fired) ... He's not safe!''

The Eagles are 11-5, having struggled after the 10-1 start. They are likely going to be the No. 5 seed as they try to repeat as the NFC winner and Super Bowl entrant.

Maybe things will go terribly, terribly south. Maybe not. But that reasonable take - the admission of "maybes'' - is not Carton's stock in trade. His living is made by screaming, sleazy silliness ...

"Every good-looking guy with money," Carton said, "would take (his) shot'' with Pamela Anderson."

OK. Good talk.
