Philadelphia Eagles Have Golden Opportunity to Get Hot in Time for Playoffs

Can the Philadelphia Eagles flip a switch and reassert themselves as one of the NFL’s premier Super Bowl contenders?

Oh, how quickly narratives can change in the NFL. The Philadelphia Eagles were once viewed as the top contender for the Super Bowl, but now some people are questioning if they were pretenders all along.

Luckily, Philly will have an opportunity to catch momentum, heading into the playoffs versus some opponents that have underperformed all season in the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants twice.

Talent isn’t an issue for the Eagles; it’s looked like a lot of lackluster coaching as of late that’s contributed to the past three losses.

Can Jalen Hurts and the Eagles find their rhythm headed into the NFL playoffs?

Can Jalen Hurts and the Eagles find their rhythm headed into the NFL playoffs?

Yes, the team suffered big defeats against the Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers, but Philadelphia beat the Cowboys earlier this season, so it’s not like Philly can’t beat Dallas.

Going up against teams like the Giants and Cardinals, players such as A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith should be able to start getting back into the flow of games and helping build the team’s winning momentum back up.

Also, these games should provide defensive play caller Matt Patricia some tune-up time for his defense, which is coming off of a horrific outing versus the Seattle Seahawks down the stretch in which Drew Lock managed to dice up the secondary in a two-minute drill.

This team has been tested before and risen to the occasion. Is it as strong from a coaching perspective as a season ago when both coordinators earned head-coaching gigs after nearly winning the Super Bowl?

Perhaps not, based on recent evidence, but considering that the team has arguably the easiest three-game stretch in the NFL to close out the regular season, they should have a great opportunity to heat up at the right time and bounce back from this three-game losing streak with a run in the playoffs.
