Perhaps Nick Sirianni isn't on the hot seat despite what many fans and analysts want.

Dianna Russini of the Athletic reported Wednesday evening that the Philadelphia Eagles head coach is working with general manager Howie Roseman to "reach out to available NFL coaches and coordinators, as well as coaching agents across the league to evaluate potential coordinator candidates to join their coaching staff as they plan for the 2024 season."

Russini's report came after several NFL Network reporters stated that Sirianni would meet with owner Jeffrey Lurie to discuss plans for the 2024 season.

The belief was that if Lurie did not like the potential changes Sirianni would make, the Eagles could end up going in a different direction. Something similar happened with Doug Pederson following the 2020 season and his removal from the organization.

Russini's report suggests that Sirianni is safe as Philadelphia's head coach after losing six of their last seven games to end the 2023 campaign including a 32-9 blowout loss in the Wild Card to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

It also means that the Birds could be looking to replace their defensive coaching staff as well as key offensive personnel. Philadelphia replaced first-year defensive coordinator Sean Desai with Matt Patricia, who's unit finished among the worst in football during the final few weeks of the season.

Frustration also boiled over on the offensive side with first-year play-caller Brian Johnson taking the reigns after Shane Steichen left for the head job in Indianapolis. Despite finishing as a top-10 unit, the Eagles' offense struggled with consistency and turnovers throughout the year.

For those reasons, it appears that while Sirianni is safe for 2024, the same might not be the case for his coordinators.
