Philadelphia Eagles UPDATE: QB Jalen Hurts - New Details Emerge on Illness at Seattle Seahawks

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts popped up as a DNP on the injury report Saturday due to an illness ahead of Monday night's meeting with the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field.

Considering the grit Hurts has displayed during his time in the NFL, this didn't cause much concern for Eagles fans. Most players tend to brush off an illness designation and play.

However, Hurts' illness reportedly "worsened" on Saturday night and into Sunday morning. But now, ahead of gametime?

Hurts is going to give it a go.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport provided some new details on Monday about Hurts' status over the past two days.

"Knowing Jalen Hurts and seeing him operate I believe also he is going to play, mainly because he always plays," Rapoport said on NFL Network. "But this is not a cold, this is not a little thing, it's not actually the flu either. This is something that left him weak enough to where at some point he was really wondering is he going to be able to travel. ... Just dealing with weakness and all sorts of flu-like symptoms, but again not actually the flu."

This season, Hurts has continued to play at an MVP-level. He's gone 286 of 430 passing for 3,192 yards, 19 touchdowns and 10 interceptions, but has also been a monster on the ground with 126 carries for 460 yards and 12 rushing touchdowns.

However, the team-wide struggles haven't escaped him during the current two-game losing streak in losses to the San Francisco 49ers and Dallas Cowboys. Even in the loss to Dallas where the Eagles were trailing the entire night, Hurts still only went 18 of 27 passing for 197 yards and no touchdowns despite being in a pass-heavy game script.

It still remains to be seen if he'll be active on Monday, but if he is, Hurts will look to overcome his illness and lead the Eagles in what feels like a must-win game.
