In this story:

Jalen Hurts didn’t have much to say when the Eagles convened for the final time two days after losing Super Bowl LVII.

The oddsmakers keep on talking, though.

At the moment, the Eagles QB has the third-best odds to win the league’s MVP, per www.BetOnline.ag (Twitter: @betonline_ag).

“I think there’s definitely a lot to learn from, from it,” said Hurts when asked, 48 hours after the 38-35 defeat to the Kansas City Chiefs, what his takeaway was.

“I’ve had the opportunity to watch it. I think I’m going to move forward with all of those experiences in mind, and try to use those things to better myself and grow, and help the guys around me. We’re going to definitely use that as an experience to … move forward.”

Hurts outplayed Super Bowl and regular season MVP winner, Patrick Mahomes, and knows that getting back to the big game will be another challenge, especially with a roster that isn’t expected to look much like the 2022 roster.

“I call them formative experiences,” he said. “They’re all teachable moments, and you decide whether you want to learn from them or not. I really believe it. That’s something I control, and that’s something every individual in this organization controls, and how we want to respond from it, and to it. So it’s a so what-now what mentality.”

Hurts recalled his freshman year at Alabama and losing in the national championship game, 35-31, to Clemson.

“I remember sitting there as a 17-year-old kid, 18-year-old kid and saying, my sophomore year starts tomorrow,” said the QB. “Nothing changes now. Going into Year 4, hungrier than ever, starving for more.

"I just want to challenge myself to be the best quarterback, leader, and man I can be for my teammates and this city and impact the people around me right now. So maybe next time around, we can finish it off the way we want to.”
