Training camps are still several weeks from opening, so NFL.com decided to do a complete seven-round mock draft that re-imagines the entire active NFL landscape with teams building balanced rosters on both sides of the ball that are designed to win now.

It’s a fun little exercise with some very entertaining results.

Here were his parameters for the active-player re-draft:

  • Teams are listed based on the first-round order from the 2023 NFL Draft, restoring all traded or forfeited picks to the original holders.
  • The subsequent rounds go in reverse order to distribute talent evenly among the 32 franchises - that is, the order of Round 1 is reversed in Round 2, which is reversed in Round 3, and so on.
  • No trades or compensatory selections were included.

Meet your new-look Philadelphia Eagles, per NFL.com

ROUND ONE

No. 31 (overall): Kyler Murray, QB, Arizona Cardinals

ROUND TWO

No. 34: Jalen Ramsey, CB, Miami Dolphins

ROUND THREE

No. 95: Dalvin Cook, RB, free agent

ROUND FOUR

No. 98: Trey Hendrickson, EDGE, Cincinnati Bengals

ROUND FIVE

No. 159: Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

ROUND SIX

No. 162: Kolton Miller, LT, Las Vegas Raiders

ROUND SEVEN

No. 223: Jalen Carter, DT, Philadelphia Eagles

NFL.com had 14 Eagles - more than half the team's starters - going to different teams, including two in the first round with quarterback Jalen Hurts going fourth overall to the Indianapolis Colts and A.J. Brown going 26th overall to the New York Giants.

Quarterbacks consumed the first nine picks, with Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow, and Josh Allen going ahead of Hurts, and Aaron Rodgers, Trevor Lawrence, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, and Dak Prescott going after Philly's QB.

The first non-quarterback picked in this exercise was defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who went No. 10 to the New Orleans Saints.

In addition to Hurts and Brown, here are the Eagles who went elsewhere:

SECOND ROUND

Eagles right tackle Lane Johnson went No. 41 overall to the Minnesota Vikings.

THIRD ROUND

The Atlanta Falcons took Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick with the 71st overall pick, the Giants went with another Eagles player, this one left tackle Jordan Mailata, at No. 90, and the Cincinnati Bengals went with 35-year-old hometown “kid” Jason Kelce at No. 93.

FOURTH ROUND

Eagles receiver DeVonta Smith lasted until the Bucs grabbed him at No. 110.

FIFTH ROUND

This was a popular round for Eagles players with pass rusher Josh Sweat being the first pick of the round, going 129 to the Chicago Bears, cornerback Darius Slay 144 to the Washington Commanders, tight end Dallas Goedert 10 to the Los Angeles Chargers, and defensive end Brandon Graham the final pick of the round, No. 160 to the Kansas City Chiefs.

SIXTH ROUND

The Jacksonville Jaguars grabbed guard Landon Dickerson at No. 166.

SEVENTH ROUND

Defensive tackle Fletcher Cox went 208 to the Commanders and cornerback James Bradberry went 213 to the Dolphins.
