The Eddie Goldman saga continues for the Atlanta Falcons.

According to NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport, Goldman is re-signing with the Falcons after retiring back in late July. In a corresponding move, the team cut defensive lineman Ikenna Enechukwu, per The Athletic's Josh Kendall.

Goldman, 30, was a second-round pick by the Chicago Bears back in 2015. A former top recruit out of Florida State, Goldman has recorded 175 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 21 quarterback hits, 13 sacks and two fumble recoveries in 81 games. He played five seasons for the Bears before opting out of the 2020 season due to COVID-19. He returned in 2021 to play 14 games for the Bears but hasn't appeared in an NFL game since.

He signed with the Falcons back in July 2022, but mysteriously retired during training camp just 13 days after signing his contract. Last year, Goldman was reinstated in March and stayed on the roster until July, but he was placed on the exempt/left squad list. Now, it appears he's giving it another go with Raheem Morris at the helm.

If Goldman is part of Atlanta's plans, the Falcons defensive line looks a lot more promising. The team is bringing back Grady Jarrett and David Onyemata to improve one of Atlanta's weak spots going into the 2024 season. If Goldman can play like his former self with the Bears, the Falcons could be in store for their first playoff appearance since the 2017 season.
