The New York Giants and former defensive back Logan Ryan have settled a salary grievance filed last year by Ryan over the guaranteed money he was owed.

Ryan, who signed with the Giants in 2020, had $5.5 million of his 2022 salary fully guaranteed and $8.5 million guaranteed for injury. However, the Giants withheld $3 million of that $8.5 million guaranteed for injury after releasing him on March 17, 2022.

Ryan, who signed a one-year contract with the Bucs the day after his release by the Giants, underwent off-season surgery on his hand before his release by the Giants.

Over the Cap lists the settlement between Ryana and the Giants as $1.5 million, half of what he owed. The $1.5 million counts as dead money against the Giants' 2023 cap space, which per OTC is listed as $1,766,164, including the restructure of quarterback Daniel Jones's deal.

The Giants will have to find more cap space to get themselves through the regular season.
