Report: Jaguars Meet With UTSA WR Josh Cephus at Hula Bowl

The Jaguars are doing their homework on the 6-foot-3 receiver prospect.

Draft season is officially here.

Expect the next several months to be filled with reports on players the Jaguars are interested in, or even just players the Jaguars are simply having conversations with during the fact-finding portion of the offseason.

One such report came on Tuesday, with the Jaguars being tied to a productive and big-bodied wide receiver.

According to Bleacher Report's Ryan Fowler, the Jaguars are one of several teams that have met with UTSA wide receiver Josh Cephus. Along with the Jaguars, Fowler says that Cephus has also met with the Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, and the Denver Broncos.

Cephus was named Second-Team All-Conference USA after catching 87 passes for 985 yards and six touchdowns in 12 starts and 13 total games, averaging 11.3 yards per catch and 75.8 yards per game. Cephus also earned honorable mention all-league honors as a punt return

As a junior in 2021, Cephus earned honorable mention All-Conference USA honors after catching 71 passes for 819 yards and six touchdowns in 14 starts, averaging 11.5 yards per catch in the process.

2020 also saw Cephus earn honorable mention All-Conference USA honors after he caught 58 passes for 547 yards and five touchdowns.

The Jaguars could be looking to add to the wide receiver room with one of their 10 draft picks in April. Veteran wide receiver Calvin Ridley is a free-agent, while Zay Jones is fresh off an injury-riddled season that saw his production take a deep dip.
