Ex-Jaguars OL Will Richardson Suspended For First 3 Games of 2023 Season

The former Day 3 pick will miss the first three games of the 2023 season.

A former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive lineman is set to face a suspension from the NFL.

According to ESPN's Field Yates, ex-Jaguars offensive lineman Will Richardson has been suspended for the first three weeks of the 2023-24 season. Richardson last played a game for the Jaguars in 2021.

Richardson, who the Jaguars selected out of NC State with the No. 129 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, has played right tackle, left tackle, and right guard for the Jaguars during his four seasons with the team, with the bulk of his action coming in 2019 and 2021.

Richardson, 26, appeared in 44 career games for the Jaguars. Richardson stared five games in that period, with two at left tackle in 2019 and two at right guard in 2021.

The Jaguars re-signed Richardson to a one-year deal last offseason after his rookie deal expired, but the veteran tackle failed to win a roster spot during training camp and was subsequently released on cut-day and not re-signed to the practice squad.

While Richardson was seen as a promising talent early on in his Jaguars tenure -- and even took over at left tackle for a short period in 2019 -- he was lost in the shuffle in last year's training camp as a new coaching staff took over.

Richardson spent the 2022 season as a free-agent, not signing with another team after the Jaguars released him.

Days after Richardson was released by the Jaguars last September, the offensive lineman was arrested in St. Johns County on DUI charges.
