Sauce Gardner Says Jets Should Sign Jaguars' Calvin Ridley

Count Sauce Gardner as a Calvin Ridley fan.
With free-agency just a few months around the corner, the Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver is seeing his name increasingly connected to free-agent wish lists.

Ridley recorded the second 1,000-yard season in his career in 2023, catching 76 passes for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns. He also made it through the entire season healthy, starting all 17 games after serving a season-long suspension in 2022.
“It felt alright. It wasn’t the best season at all personally. Definitely as a team, we didn’t reach the goals we wanted. For me personally, it wasn’t everything that I wanted," Ridley said after the season ended.
“I think I’ve been proving that I can still run. As long as I can run and cut, I know I can play. I just needed to be more focused, more dialed in and figure out my routine faster. Figuring out how to get back into the flow of it faster, it’s not as easy as people think. I was trying to figure out faster and remember those situations, those one-on-one situations, just figuring the game out. I think next year will be a better year for me for sure, just to get this year under my belt was important though.”
“Calvin was a bright spot for us offensively. We were excited to have him here. He was definitely someone here down the stretch that we relied on with Zay [Jones] and Christian [Kirk] and the situation there at receiver," Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said when the season ended.
"Obviously, a player that we’ve all liked on offense, and he’s got a lot talent. He made us better as a team and you hope that things potentially work out, you never know how things go. It’s a crazy business, but Calvin was definitely a bright spot for us offensively.”
