2023 Jaguars Offseason: NFL Dates, Deadlines to Watch

The 2023 offseason is already shaping up to be a busy one around the NFL.
Weeks after the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl LVII win, the NFL has moved on to the next season at a rapid pace. As a result, key deadlines and dates have been set and the 2023 offseason calendar is in full view.
So, what are the important dates for the Jaguars and their base to follow this offseason as they prepare for the 2023 season? We break it down below, with official language from the NFL.
March 7: Franchise/transition tag deadline. Tags must be applied by 4 p.m., eastern time.
March 13: Starting at noon, eastern time, teams are permitted to contact and enter contract negotiations with players who will become unrestricted free agents when the league year begins. This period lasts until 3:59:59 p.m., eastern time, on March 15.
March 15: 2023 league year and free agency begins at 4 p.m., eastern time. All 2022 contracts will expire and the trading period will begin. Teams are eligible to sign unrestricted free agents.
March 26-29: Annual League Meeting, Phoenix, Arizona
April 17: Clubs with returning head coaches may begin offseason workout programs.
April 19: Deadline for clubs to time, test, visit, interview or conduct a physical examination with a draft-eligible player at its club facility.
April 21: Deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets.
April 26: Deadline for prior club to exercise Right of First Refusal to restricted free agents.
April 27-29: 2023 NFL Draft
May 2: Deadline for Clubs to exercise Fifth-Year Option for players selected in the first round of the 2020 Draft.
May 5-8/May 12-15: Clubs may elect to hold their one three-day post-Draft rookie minicamp from Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday on one of the two weekends following the Draft.
