The Jacksonville Jaguars will be bringing back another depth player from 2022.

After a series of re-signing over the last several weeks that has seen the Jaguars retain starters and backup players alike, the Jaguars reportedly continued the trend on Wednesday by re-signing cornerback Tevaughn Campbell to a one-year deal according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Campbell saw limited action with the Jaguars last season after being added to the roster following Week 6. He appeared in five games, recording three tackles and playing 31 defensive snaps and 10 special teams snaps in that span.

With Campbell back on the roster, the Jaguars are set to retain a large chunk of their defensive back room despite releasing Shaquill Griffin and having Tre Herndon's contract expire. Campbell is set to return alongside Tyson Campbell, Darious Williams, Chris Claybrooks, Montaric Brown, and Gregory Junior.

Originally signed by the New York Jets as a rookie free agent, Campbell spent 2020 and 2021 with the Los Angeles Chargers. In 2021, he totaled 38 tackles (30 solo), four passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 16 games with seven starts.

Campbell is from Canada and played four seasons in the CFL before his NFL career, At the University of Regina in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada, he played football and ran track, finishing his football career as the school’s all-time leader in average yards per kickoff return and earned All-Canadian honors at defensive back. Campbell won a total of 11 medals in Canada West and CIS track events and set the school record in the 60m (6.67).
