The Jacksonville Jaguars will likely line up against a familiar face in Week 6.

Former Jaguars quarterback Gardner Minshew, who spent two seasons with the team and started 20 games in 2019 and 2020, is poised to start for the Indianapolis Colts vs. the Jaguars next Sunday following an injury to rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Richardson could miss the next month with a shoulder injury. This means Minshew will start vs. the Jaguars in a pivotal AFC South game in Week 6. It would be Minshew's first start vs. the Jaguars since they traded him before the 2021 season began.

Colts starting quarterback Anthony Richardson received an initial diagnosis of a Grade 3 AC joint sprain that is expected to keep him out for a month or more, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday.

On Sunday, Richardson suffered a right shoulder injury in the second quarter against the Tennessee Titans. The rookie QB did not return to the field, and it was initially reported that it was, in fact, an AC joint sprain. Other than that, X-rays came back negative, Rapoport reported Sunday.

However, he will have an MRI on Monday morning to confirm the news and reveal the severity of the injury, Rapoport reported.

Minshew, who is in his first year with the Colts after spending the last two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles, is in his third year playing under Colts head coach Shane Steichen.

In five games (one start) this year, Minshew has completed 68.7% of his passes for 553 yards and two touchdowns.
