Jaguars' Calvin Ridley Receives Vote For Comeback Player of the Year

On the same night Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne earned a vote for Offensive Player of the Year, another Jaguars offensive player received a vote during NFL Honors.
Jaguars wide receiver Calvin Ridley, who missed nearly two entire seasons before 2023, received a second-place vote for Comeback Player of the Year.
Ridley missed the 2022 season due to a year-long suspension for violating the NFL's gambling policy, while also missing most of the 2021 season due to injuries and other factors.

Joe Flacco 13-26-8 = 151
Damar Hamlin 21-7-14 = 140
Baker Mayfield 10-10-13 = 93

Brock Purdy 1-0-1 = 6
Calvin Ridley 0-1-0 = 3
Aaron Donald 0-0-1…
Ridley recorded the second 1,000-yard season in his career in 2023, catching 76 passes for 1,016 yards and eight touchdowns. He also made it through the entire season healthy, starting all 17 games after serving a season-long suspension in 2022.
“It felt alright. It wasn’t the best season at all personally. Definitely as a team, we didn’t reach the goals we wanted. For me personally, it wasn’t everything that I wanted," Ridley said on Monday.
“I think I’ve been proving that I can still run. As long as I can run and cut, I know I can play. I just needed to be more focused, more dialed in and figure out my routine faster. Figuring out how to get back into the flow of it faster, it’s not as easy as people think. I was trying to figure out faster and remember those situations, those one-on-one situations, just figuring the game out. I think next year will be a better year for me for sure, just to get this year under my belt was important though.”
