Jaguars Coaching Tracker: Which Assistants Will Join Doug Pederson's Staff?

The Jacksonville Jaguars are looking to fill out Doug Pederson's staff in 2024.
After a disappointing 9-8 season that saw the Jaguars finish 9-8 and miss the playoffs, Pederson is looking to replace 10 coaches: eight on defense and two on offense, including defensive coordinator.
So far, the Jaguars have been tied to the following coaches in their search for a new defensive coordinator
Wink Martindale
Wink Martindale has been the New York Giants defensive coordinator for the last two seasons. He was the Baltimore Ravens defensive coordinator from 2018-2021 and the Ravens inside linebackers coach from 2012-2017.
Chris Hewitt
Hewitt has been a part of the Ravens defensive staff since 2012, joining the Ravens the same year they won the Super Bowl under Harbaugh. He spent five years as their defensive backs coach before being promoted to passing game coordinator in 2020;
Marquand Manuel
A coordinator with strong ties to the Seattle Seahawks' Cover 3 scheme, Marquand Manuel has been the safeties coach for the last three seasons after two seasons as Atlanta's defensive coordinator and one year under Doug Pederson in Philadelphia as defensive backs coach.
Shane Bowen
Mike Vrabel's right-hand man for years, Shane Bowen has coordinated the Titans defense since 2021 but had called plays for them in 2020, too.
Chris Harris
A riser in the coaching ranks, Chris Harris was the passing game coordinator for the Tennessee Titans in 2023 after several years coaching the defensive backs in Washington.
Ryan Nielsen
The Jaguars are not currently permitted to speak to Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Ryan Nielsen, with the Falcons blocking the Jaguars' request and the request of other teams hoping to speak to their assistants after firing Arthur Smith.
Ejiro Evero
The Jaguars are not currently permitted to speak to Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero after the Panthers blocked the request, but maybe that changes when the Panthers hire a head coach.
The Jaguars are looking for a new defensive coordinator after firing former coordinator Mike Caldwell on Monday night. The Jaguars also fired seven other defensive assistants, leaving only three of Pederson's 11 defensive staff members left: quality control coach Patrick Reilly, assistant defensive line coach Rory Segrest and outside linebackers coach Bill Shuey, with the latter two having ties to Pederson from Pederson's first stint as an Eagles coach under Doug Pederson.
In total, the Jaguars are looking to fill replace 10 fired or departing coaches, including:
- Defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell
- Defensive Line Coach Brentson Buckner
- Defensive Quality Control Coach Sean Cullina
- Inside Linebackers Coach Tony Gilbert
- Safeties Coach Cody Grimm
- Defensive Quality Control Coach Tee Mitchell
- Senior Defensive Assistant Bob Sutton
- Passing Game Coordinator/Cornerbacks Coach Deshea Townsend
- Running Backs Coach Bernie Parmalee
- Assistant Offensive Line Coach Tony Washington.
Chances are the Jaguars' next defensive coordinator will have a large say in filling the position coach vacancies on the defensive line, in the secondary, and at inside linebacker.
