With veterans set to report for training camp on Tuesday, the Jacksonville Jaguars placed veteran guard Ben Bartch on the Active/Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list on Saturday.

Bartch started five games for the Jaguars at left guard in 2022 after winning the starting job in training camp, but a knee injury in Week 5 vs. the Houston Texans ended his season prematurely.

In his place in 2022, the Jaguars rolled with veteran guard/center Tyler Shatley, while new additions like Chandler Brewer or rookie offensive lineman Cooper Hodges also give the Jaguars options at the left guard spot.

Bartch is one of three starting offensive linemen from Week 1 who won't be on the field at the start of camp, joining suspended tackle Cam Robinson and former right tackle Jawaan Taylor, who departed in March in free agency and signed with the Kansas City Chiefs.

A fourth round pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, Bartch has appeared in 33 games for the Jaguars over the last three seasons, starting 17.

The PUP list is designed for players who are physically unable to perform football services due to football-related injuries. These players can participate in team activities but are not allowed to practice.

Players on the Active/PUP list count toward a team's 90-man roster. Players can be removed from the list at any time during camp, but can't be placed back on the list. Players on this list as of final roster cutdowns must be placed on the Reserve/PUP, released, traded or counted against the 53-man roster.
