Jaguars Podcast: Judging a Quiet First Wave of Free Agency

The Jacksonville Jaguars are normally no strangers to busy offseason spending sprees, but everyone knew 2023 would be different.
So far, the Jaguars have stayed on the sidelines and mostly watched as the rest of the NFL has bid over the best players available in free-agency. After back-to-back seasons of significant spending by the Jaguars in March, the Jaguars have not yet added an external free agent this offseason.
While the Jaguars haven't signed any new faces yet this week, that doesn't mean this hasn't been a bust period for them. After several extensions, restructures and re-signings before free-agency, the Jaguars have re-signed two more players this week in safety Andrew Wingard and cornerback Tevaughn Campbell.
The Jaguars have also seen two of their most important free agents walk and receive new deals with other teams.
Jaguars' pass-rusher Arden Key will not be returning to Jacksonville for a second season, instead signing a three-year, $21 million deal with $13 million in guarantees with the Tennessee Titans.
As for right tackle Jawaan Taylor, the Jaguars saw him leave for the Super Bowl Champions, signing a four-year, $80 million contract with $60 million guaranteed.
With Key and Taylor now off the roster, the Jaguars have questions that we will have to see them answer over the next weeks and months. This week, we do our best to guess how those answers may arise.
