Jaguars Rookie Review: Updates on Each 2023 Draft Pick After Loss to Texans

The Jacksonville Jaguars are reeling.
After a 37-17 home loss to a banged-up and previously winless Houston Texans squad, the Jaguars are left searching for answers from the top of the roster to the bottom.
What did we see from each of the Jaguars' 13 draft picks and their top undrafted free agent in the loss? We break it down below.
1st, No. 27: OT Anton Harrison, Oklahoma
A week after Jaguars' first-round right tackle Anton Harrison had his welcome to the NFL game, the 21-year-old tackle showed improvement vs. the Texans. He allowed one pressure in roughly three quarters, though an ankle injury did force him off the field for the final 20+ plays of the game. And while Harrison didn't have nearly the same issues this week that he did last week, a big part of that was due to the sheer fact that he wasn't playing Chris Jones this time around.
“Well, this is not against [Texans DE] Will Anderson, I think Will is going be a great player. But he’s not Chris Jones either," Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson said on Monday.
"Anton did have a much better game, but again, there are things that he can clean up. He got beat inside a couple of times on some games. Just recognition, it all comes from playing and he doesn’t see a ton of that or didn’t see a ton of that at the collegiate level. Everything is new for him, but he’s improving, and we have a lot of confidence in him that he’ll get it done.”
2nd, No. 61: TE Brenton Strange, Penn State
Second-round tight end Brenton Strange played 21 snaps on Sunday, a four % increase from the previous week. He was also targeted for the first time in his career, catching two passes for seven yards. This included a third-down target on a screen, though he didn't convert the first down. So far, it has been a forgettable rookie year for the sparingly-used Strange, though his blocking does still stand out.
3rd, No. 88: RB Tank Bigsby, Auburn
Tank Bigsby got the fewest snaps he has played all season, playing just nine snaps. He did record two carries for 10 yards, including a one-yard touchdown from the one-yard line that was his second goal-line touchdown of the season. It is clear that the Jaguars are going to turn to Bigsby each time they are at the goal line, but otherwise it doesn't look like he has any other tangible role.
4th, No. 121: LB Ventrell Miller, Florida
Ventrell Miller is on injured reserve and is not on the active roster.
4th, No. 130: DL Tyler Lacy, Oklahoma State
It was another quiet game for Tyler Lacy, who is behind Jeremiah Ledbetter, Adam Gotsis, and Angelo Blackson on the depth chart. He played just seven snaps, with five coming as a pass-rusher and two coming as a run-stuffer. He didn't record a pressure in any of his five pass-rush snaps.
5th, No. 136: EDGE/LB Yasir Abdullah, Louisville
Yasir Abdullah played 11 snaps on Sunday, though most of those came on running downs. Abdullah spent eight snaps as a run defender, one snap in coverage and two snaps as a pass-rusher. He did record a pressure on one of his two pass-rush snaps, though, giving him a pressure in all three games this season. So far, he has recorded three pressures on 17 pass-rush snaps this season.
5th, No. 160: DB Antonio Johnson, Texas A&M
Antonio Johnson missed Week 3 with a hamstring injury.
6th, No. 185: WR Parker Washington, Penn State
Parker Washington was a healthy scratch for Week 3.
6th, No. 202: CB Christian Braswell, Rutgers
Christian Braswell did not record a defensive snap in Week 3.
6th, No. 208: S Erick Hallett II, Pittsburgh
Erick Hallett is on the practice squad and was not active for Week 3.
7th, No. 226: OL Cooper Hodges, App. State
Cooper Hodges is on injured reserve and is not on the active roster.
7th, No. 227: DL Raymond Vohasek, UNC
Raymond Vohasek is not on the Jaguars' active roster or practice squad.
7th, No. 240: FB Derek Parish, Houston
Derek Parish is on the practice squad and was not active for Week 3.
UDFA: WR Elijah Cooks
Elijah Cooks was a healthy scratch for Week 3.
