The Jacksonville Jaguars aren't done adding to their depth chart ahead of April's draft.

A day after the Jaguars signed swing tackle Josh Wells, the Jaguars also announced the signing of former Los Angeles Rams guard Chandler Brewer. Brewer appeared in 13 games after playing with the Rams for three seasons, including making his first four career starts in 2022, all at right guard.

Brewer signed with the Rams as an undrafted free agent in 2019 before opting out of the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Brewer played collegiately at Middle Tennessee State University, where he earned First Team All-Conference-USA honors his senior year. In his sophomore season in 2016, he helped RB I’Tavius Mathers set the school record for rushing yards (1,561) and all-purpose yards (2,194) by a running back.

Brewer will join the Jaguars interior offensive line depth, a group that also includes Tyler Shatley, Ben Bartch, Cole Van Lanen, and Blake Hance.

The Jaguars saw the need for guard depth arise during the 2022 season. Bartch began the year as the starting left guard after beating Shatley out for the role in training camp. Bartch started the first five games of the year before a season-ending knee injury forced Shatley into action for the next 14 starts.

At right guard, the Jaguars saw Brandon Scherff start every game of the season for the first time in his career since 2016, but Scherff also dealt with a number of lingering injuries that he had to fight through by the end of the season. With Brewer, the Jaguars can now have the depth inside to confidently enter their offseason program.
