Jaguars vs. Chiefs: 5 Pressing Questions on Week 2

The Jacksonville Jaguars will kick off against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 2, a rematch of last year's Divisional Round loss. Now, the Jaguars will be looking to avenge an emotional loss and continue their trek to becoming one of the AFC's best teams.

To preview this week's big game, we spoke with Jordan Foote of Arrowhead Report to get their insight on the team the Jaguars are faced to do battle with.

1) Why is Patrick Mahomes still dangerous even with this WR Group?

Jordan Foote: Last year, Mahomes evolved into a quarterback who's willing to take anything the opposing defense gives him. He also shored up his issues with pocket presence, truly becoming the most lethal version of himself. With some positive regression in the drop department, Mahomes's wideouts should have a better outing in Week 2 as No. 15 continues to put them in positions to succeed. Kansas City has essentially forced Mahomes to make do with what he has (outside of Travis Kelce).

2) What can Chris Jones give the Chiefs in his first week back?

Jordan Foote: It's unlikely that Jones will assume a full workload right off the bat, but everything has trended towards him playing some sort of role in Week 2. Coming off the best season of his career, Jones improved as a run defender while also occupying double-teams and thriving as a pass-rushing threat. He'll help the Chiefs based on what he does himself, but also what he can to open up opportunities for others.

3) Who is the top Jaguars player the Chiefs know they must stop?

Jordan Foote: Travis Etienne. Not only is he coming off a solid Week 1, but he also ran for 109 yards in the Divisional Round against the Chiefs earlier this calendar year. Etienne is a strong, well-rounded back who can also factor into the passing game, so Kansas City will have to slow him down and force the Jags' other weapons to beat Steve Spagnuolo's defense.

4) How do the Chiefs try to stop Calvin Ridley?

Jordan Foote:  Wow, did Ridley sure look good in the first half of last week's game. He was explosive before and after the catch, and he'll undoubtedly stress a Chiefs secondary that is banking on L'Jarius Sneed to stay healthy all year long. Throwing someone with size on Ridley — Sneed makes some sense — and hoping the pass rush has a good showing up front might be the way to slow down this hype train.

5) Score prediction?

Jordan Foote: I picked the Chiefs to lose last week and while that did pan out, I can't bet against Patrick Mahomes in back-to-back weeks. Don't get me wrong: Jacksonville is a very formidable threat and this could once again be a teaser for a playoff matchup at the end of this season. With that said, I expect the Chiefs' offense to have a bounce-back game and do enough to secure the win on the road. Chiefs 31, Jaguars 24
