Jaguars vs. Panthers: Trevor Lawrence Doesn't Practice on Wednesday

Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence missed Wednesday's practice as he recovers from his shoulder sprain.
“It’s feeling decent, a little bit better today. The last couple of days has been progressing pretty good. Still sore but it’s feeling a little bit better," Lawrence said before practice on Wednesday.
"Yeah, that’s the plan right now, obviously things can change, but as of right now, I don’t plan on doing much today and we’ll see tomorrow. Taking it day by day, but yeah, not really going to throw any today and from there, you never know how things are going to heal up and how quickly you’re going to recover. Right now, it’s still pretty sore and still working through the beginning stages of getting back. We’ll see how it goes, but that’s the plan right now.”
Lawrence was replaced by C.J. Beathard in the final quarter, though Lawrence finished the drive he was injured on with a touchdown pass to wide receiver Calvin Ridley. Lawrence ultimately injured his shoulder when diving out of bounds and landing on it near the end of the third quarter.
Lawrence finished the game 17-of-29 for 211 yards and a touchdown, also throwing two interceptions and losing one fumble. To this point in his career, Lawrence has never missed a start, becoming one of just three quarterbacks this week to start every single game since Week 1 of the 2021 season.
This is the fourth injury Lawrence has sustained this year, following a knee injury in Week 6, an ankle sprain in Week 13, a concussion in Week 15, and now the shoulder injury.
“Yeah, we all have ultimate confidence in C.J. [Beathard] that he’ll get himself ready to play the game, same with Trevor [Lawrence]," Jaguars offensive coordinator Press Taylor said on Wednesday.
"He will get himself as ready as he possibly can, we’ll figure out where he is in terms of getting physical reps, where he is in terms of making it on gameday, but we expect both of those guys to be prepared and ready to play.”
Limited for the Jaguars on Wednesday were:
- CB Christian Braswell (hamstring)
- CB Tyson Campbell (finger)
- S Andre Cisco (groind)
- OL Ezra Cleveland (knee)
- OL Cam Robinson (knee)
- WR Zay Jones (knee/hamstring)
- TE Brenton Strange (foot)
- OL Walker Little (hamstring)
