Jaguars vs. Ravens: Week 15 Snap Count Analysis

While watching a game live can give you one impression of a player's usage, looking at the actual amount of snaps they played compared to their teammates can also give insight into the team's strategy and outlook.
When looking at the snap counts for the Jacksonville Jaguars after their 23-7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, it is clear to see what kind of plan the Jaguars went into the game with, and what limitations they had from a personnel standpoint.
Who played a lot, and why? Did the snaps mean anything or nothing? We examine below:
Offense (62 snaps)
- LT Walker Little: 62 (100%)
- LG Ezra Cleveland: 62 (100%)
- C Luke Fortner: 62 (100%)
- RT Anton Harrison: 62 (100%)
- QB Trevor Lawrence: 62 (100%)
- RG Brandon Scherff: 61 (98%)
- WR Calvin Ridley: 57 (92%)
- TE Evan Engram: 52 (84%)
- RB Travis Etienne: 43 (69%)
- WR Zay Jones: 38 (61%)
- WR Parker Washington: 28 (45%)
- WR Tim Jones: 22 (35%)
- TE Luke Farrell: 21 (34%)
- RB D'Ernest Johnson: 18 (29%)
- WR Elijah Cooks: 14 (23%)
- WR Jamal Agnew: 10 (16%)
- OL Blake Hance: 5 (8%)
- OL Tyler Shatley: 1 (2%)
- RB Tank Bigsby: 1 (2%)
- TE Josh Pederson: 1 (2%)
- The Tank Bigsby experiment seems over, at least for 2023. He only got one snap on Sunday, and it was a two-yard loss early in the first-half. The Jaguars don't seem to trust him to be on the field on passing downs, and every other down has become a passing down for this offense.
- Jamal Agnew led the Jaguars with 70 receiving yards despite playing the fewest snaps of any wide receiver, with 65 of those coming on his touchdown.
- The loss of Brenton Strange is evident when you look at the Jaguars' personnel usage. No. 3 tight end Josh Pederson played just one snap and Blake Hance, who has served as a defacto No. 3 tight end in jumbo packages, played just five. While Strange wouldn't play many snaps, he would assuredly play more than 6.
Defense (70 snaps)
- SS Rayshawn Jenkins: 70 (100%)
- ILB Foyesade Oluokun: 70 (100%)
- FS Andrew Wingard: 69 (99%)
- ILB Devin Lloyd: 68 (97%)
- CB Montaric Brown: 68 (97%)
- CB Darious Williams: 64 (91%)
- OLB Josh Allen: 53 (76%)
- OLB Travon Walker: 52 (74%)
- DL Roy Robertson-Harris: 39 (56%)
- DL DaVon Hamilton: 34 (49%)
- DL Foley Fatukasi: 33 (47%)
- OLB Dawaune Smoot: 28 (40%)
- DL Adam Gotsis: 27 (39%)
- DL Jeremiah Ledbetter: 25 (36%)
- DB Antonio Johnson: 24 (34%)
- OLB K'Lavon Chaisson: 16 (23%)
- DL Tyler Lacy: 16 (23%)
- CB Tre Herndon: 7 (10%)
- SS Daniel Thomas: 4 (6%)
- ILB Chad Muma: 2 (3%)
- ILB Shaq Quarterman: 2 (3%)
- Antonio Johnson played a season-high in snaps, effectively making his debut as the Jaguars' starting slot cornerback. This meant plenty of snaps in the box, which is Johnson's specialty.
- Dawuane Smoot and K'Lavon Chaisson combined for three pressures on 18 pass-rush snaps, one of their more productive games as a duo this season.
